Project Description

    Bringing history to life

The Museum of Chinese Australian History (Chinese Museum) of Melbourne is a not-for-profit national institution that was established by the Chinese Australian Community in 1985. Its roles are to document, preserve, collect and research the history and culture of Chinese and their descendants in Australia and the history of the relationships formed between Australians and China.

In doing so, the Museum endeavors to display and promote this history and culture along with a general appreciation of Chinese arts and culture to as wide an audience as possible in Australia and overseas.

The Chinese Museum in continually evolving and developing. Fundraising for both temporary and new permanent exhibitions is an ongoing quest. The Museum’s program has been designed by teachers with a strong focus on curriculum and contemporary teaching methodologies. It has links with the Victorian Curriculum (AusVELS) and the Australian Curriculum across a range of learning areas including History, Languages (Chinese), The Arts and English.

One of the most vital ways the Museum communicates is through its dynamic website which is a major component of its communication strategy. The website redesign needed to be robust and user friendly both for the end user and marketing staff charged with keeping it updated.

As part of its growth trajectory the Museum has also worked with KahrenR Design on many occasions to produce brochures, exhibition graphics and advertisements and maintain consistency in its branding.
