The RippSeeder in Action

On ??s property in Middle Tawin a windbreak for ???. In the past ?? had taken advantage of Landcare funding to re-vegetate parts of the property. That funding is no longer available so ?? sought the most efficient solution both in terms of cost and ease of implementation.

The RippaSeeder scalping method was used here. The machine is simple to operate. The blades of the RippaSeeder remove the top 10-15 cm of soil removing the bulk of the weed seed layer, exposing a cleaner surface of soil. The seed was then placed on the prepared surface.

This process is important because without weed seed the indigenous seed can germinate and grow with limited competition.
